Thermal mineral water swimming pool

Balneochemical analysis: sodium hydrogen–carbonate sulphate chloride thermo–mineral hyperthermal water (Institute of Public Health, Institute of Environmental Protection Maribor) contains: Cations: (mg/l) sodium 1,700, potassium 42, calcium 28, magnesium 7, silicon 44.2, lithium 0.38 and traces of barium and strontium. Anions: (mg/l) hydrogen carbonate 2,100, sulphate 1,430, chloride 490, fluoride 9.9, bromide 2.1 and iodide 0.44.

The sodium chloride (table salt) gives the water a salty taste, but it is not harmful if drunk occasionally.

Based on the study and expert literature about these kinds of waters (Prof. dr. Janez Krašovec, Ph.D., balneologist) the thermo–mineral water is balneologically applicable for:

  • chronic degenerative diseases of the spinal column, extremities and joints,
  • vertebrogenic pain, stiffening of joints, neuralgia,
  • arthrosis, spondylarthrosis, ankylosing spondylitis (Mb Bechterew),
  • conditions following injuries and operations of extremities and joints due to inactivity,
  • continuation of rehabilitation after a previous health spa treatment,
  • reflex dystrophy, muscle laxity due to inactivity,
  • prevention of osteoporosis, exercising in the pool according to the individual programme,
  • renewal and fitness baths, recreation within wellness and fitness programmes,
  • underwater massage.

Special care must be taken in case of overburdening in the swimming pool or contraindications with high blood pressure, heart conditions, decompensation of the heart, liver and kidneys, diabetic acidosis, vein inflammation, open wounds, epileptics, physical exhaustion, acute febrile states and severe neurological disorders with physical symptoms, as well as during pregnancy.
